Johanna Karvonen is an Italy-based Finnish artist and painter with a Finland-Swedish background.

Her artistic practice is rooted in curiosity, allowing each work to emerge through an intuitive dialogue between colour, texture and material.

Working without predetermined outcomes, she embraces experimentation and slow processes. Layers are built, erased and rediscovered, creating surfaces that hold traces of both intention and chance. The finished works are less about providing answers than opening space for personal interpretation.

Living between Nordic and Mediterranean landscapes has become an important influence on her visual language. Contrasts in light, climate and architecture continue to shape her sensitivity to colour, atmosphere and space.
